The Great Bend USD 428 Board of Education will have its first meeting at the new location of the District Education Center, 1829 24th St., at 5 p.m. Monday, June 10.

Three recognitions/presentations are on the agenda: a trip proposal to Houston, Texas, for HOSA, the student group for future health professionals; a report from Holly Johnson, drama club sponsor, on the recent Advanced Theater trip to Branson, Mo.; and a note of appreciation Karen Shaner, Jane Isern, and several local donors and volunteers for providing t29 bikes to the Perfect Attendance Bike Give-Away program. 

Action items on the agenda include approval of the handbook for Little Panther Preschool, approval of gym floor bids, and discussion on the vacant athletic trainer position.

The board will approve 2024-2025 fees, as well as mileage reimbursement to qualified parents/guardians for transporting students to school if they reside 2.5 miles or more from their designated school and live outside of the city limits.
