The Great Bend USD 428 Board of Education will get a first look at next year's Program of Studies Book for Great Bend High School when the board meets at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, at the District Education Center, 201 South Patton Road. GBHS Principal Tim Friess will discuss several course description updates and wording changes and present recommendations to the board.

Other items on the agenda include replacing/upgrading the fire protection panel system at Great Bend High School, approving the annual roof inspection contract, reviewing the potential for developing a small virtual school option, adjusting the pay rate for teachers who choose to give up their planning time to cover for other teachers’ classrooms due to a shortage of substitute teachers this year (from $20 to $30), and an executive session for discussion of the superintendent’s annual evaluation.
