Schools declare snow day

With a winter storm approaching the area Tuesday night, at least two Barton County schools announced plans to cancel classes on Wednesday, Feb. 2. Central Christian Academy in Great Bend and Ellinwood Public Schools, USD 355, will be closed.

Other schools that will be closed are La Crosse USD 395, Lyons USD 405, Macksville USD 351 and Otis-Bison USD 403.

Rice County Council on Aging and Quivira Transit in Lyons will be closed Wednesday and Thursday.
