Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! We have quite a few things happening at the library this coming week, so without further ado, let’s get into what you have to look forward to. For teens, the Writing Club will be meeting on the 14th at 4:30 p.m. via Discord to share stories and write new ones together. Those who would like to join can use the class code @t33nwrite on remind.com, in the Remind app, or text it to 81010 (standard message rates apply) for the link to the server. That same day we will have a take and make craft available to teens who would like to come to pick one up. This week the craft will be Paper Weaving Pop Art. Teens grades 6-12 can come in and grab a kit with everything they need to make their own.

We have lots of fun Children’s activities planned on our Facebook page, starting Tuesday with Virtual Story Time with Miss Amy. Tune in live at 10:30 a.m. to listen to stories and play along with Miss Amy. Then come pick up a related take and make a craft from our Children’s Department. If you are unable to make it to the live story time, no worries, they will be posted on our website as well. Wednesday will be a fun day with Miss Jessica in her interactive Learning Library. Each week will be different, with themed games, videos, and activities for children to enjoy. Closing out the week for kids we will have our S.T.E.A.M. Ahead program Thursday at 3 p.m. Each week we will have a different activity posted involving science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics.

For adults this week we have the Open Book Club on Tuesday at 7 p.m. This month we are reading “On Basilisk Station” by David Weber, the first title of the sci-fi Honor Harrington series. This novel follows Commander Honor Harrington during her assignment to the Basilisk System. Those wishing to check out a copy of this book or October’s book, the ”Graveyard Boy,” can do so at the front desk. Adults can also pick up our adult craft for this month, a D.I.Y. Letter Canvas. The kit will come with instructions and everything you need to make the craft. Supplies are limited, so come in and get yours now if you would like one.

If you pick up and complete any of our awesome activities, don’t forget to share your photos with us on our Facebook and Instagram @greatbendpl using the hashtag #gbplathome.
