A foot of snow with school out may be the perfect combination for a prolific season of snow art. Garet Fitzpatrick at the Great Bend Recreation Commission reminds area residents that its annual snow sculpture contest runs through March 31, 2014.
To enter, create a snow sculpture and take a photo of it. Mail the photo to GBRC, P.O. Box 353, Great Bend, KS 67530, or email it to gfitzpatrick@gbrc.kscoxmail.com. Include a list of all of the participants that helped make the creation, along with the mailing address and phone number of a contact person for the sculpture.
Winners will be announced the first week of April.  The first place entry will receive a $25 gift card and the second place entry will receive a $15 gift card donated by Walmart.
