The Soroptimists of Great Bend, a women’s club designed to promote the education and advancement of other women, is hosting an all-you-can-eat chili and chicken noodle soup supper from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 10 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Great Bend. Tickets are $5 per person and kids under 5 years of age eat for free. Dinner includes all-you-can eat chili and/or chicken noodle soup, veggies, iced tea or water, and a homemade dessert. Tickets are available in advance from Coldwell Banker Real Estate (10th & McKinley) or at the door.
The funds raised at this soup supper go to support the club’s two scholarship programs. The Violet Richardson award is given to a high school student who has given back to her community. The Women’s Opportunity Award is given to a woman who is head-of-household and is continuing her education to make a better life for herself and her family. The funds also support the club’s philanthropic efforts. In the past, they have given charitable donations to numerous organizations, projects, and non-profits.
