The St. Rose Health Center grand opening is set for Wednesday, Nov. 4. The public is encouraged to attend.

The public is invited to get an up-close look at the new St. Rose Health Center during its upcoming grand opening.
The event is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, and will include tours of the facility, a Great Bend Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting and refreshments.
St. Rose Site Manager Zena Jacobs will make a few opening remarks and Golden Belt Home Health & Hospice Chaplain Larry Schumacher will offer the invocation. GBHH&H is part of the St. Rose family.
“We are encouraging the community to join us in the celebration of a new day at St. Rose,” Jacobs said. “All of us are eager for local and area residents to see first-hand what this state-of-the-art facility has to offer.”
Participants also will hear from Scott Taylor, chief executive officer of Centura Kansas, and Dr. John Jeter, CEO of Hays Medical Center. HaysMed and Centura are co-owners of St. Rose.
“Dr. Jeter and Mr. Taylor will address the importance of the joint venture between their two organizations and what it means for central Kansans,” Jacobs said. “They will focus on how this partnership is resulting in excellent health-care services and personnel at St. Rose.”
In addition, Tom Bell, president of the Kansas Hospital Association, will talk to the group about St. Rose’s bright future, Jacobs noted.
“Mr. Bell will share his expertise about how we are adapting to the changing health-care environment,” Jacobs explained. “He has said that St. Rose is an excellent example of how to provide services in this new era of health care.”
St. Rose administrators and department managers will guide tours throughout the new facility. Staff members also are volunteering their time to provide educational information in their departments.
“The community will discover that St. Rose is a modern and visionary health-care facility,” Jacobs said. “We are here to provide patients and their families with the best options for quality care and treatment.
“If all the positive comments we hear are any indication,” Jacobs added, “those who attend the grand opening will be impressed. Every day, we enjoy positive feedback about our professionalism, patient convenience and the vital continuity of care with HaysMed.”
