Storm cleanup plan for City of Great Bend
great bend city logo

The City of Great Bend is putting together a storm cleanup plan for trees and limbs.

On Monday, City staff focused on clearing streets only. The next step will be to drive through every neighborhood and pick up downed trees and limbs with these following rules:

• If you are able to take your own tree limbs to the City Compost Site, the city would greatly appreciate the help and effort.

• If you are unable to take your own limbs, please gather them to the edge of your yard by the curb.

• The city will drive every neighborhood to pick up tree parts that are gathered in citizens’ yards next to the curb. However, they will only drive by one time, so make it a priority to get yours gathered as soon as possible. A map and plan on dates will be released as soon as possible.

• Cut trees and limbs to 6 feet or shorter to help city efforts and cleanup.

• Help elderly and unable citizens to clean up the community. If you are unable to clean up your yard, contact City Hall at  620-793-4111 or email chayes@greatbendks.netand ask to be added to the “unable to clean” list and you will be connected to a group of workers/volunteers to your area.
