Suicide Prevention Task Force holds poster contest

The Suicide Prevention Task Force of the Central Kansas Partnership held a poster contest from Nov. 1 through Dec. 18. The purpose of the contest is to raise awareness in reaching out for help.

The contest was open to all middle and high school students in Barton County. The top three posters were selected from a total of 13 entries.  

Winners included number one Elydia Harr, number two Georgia Parks, and number three Karlee Dougherty. The submitted posters will be on display throughout the county, starting with  Office Products Inc., located at 1204 Main in Great Bend, throughout the month of March. 

“Involving youth in suicide prevention is a key goal of the Suicide Prevention Task Force of the Central Kansas Partnership,” task force chair Holly Bowyer said.
