STAFFORD — Snap, Crackle, Pop! These sounds were heard all over Stafford in celebration of our country’s birthday. Stafford citizens put on quite a show!

You can also hear these sounds as kids crawl through Nora’s Cavern. Yes, Sandy incorporated sound effects along with educational moments, and visual delights. Come enjoy her space.

Kim Volker and her lab, Tank, joined us July 2. Kim and Tank demonstrated several good traits for our children, such as patience, obedience and manners. Kim also brushed Tank’s teeth and talked of good hygiene. Tank finished up the morning by letting the kids read to him. Needless to say it was a great morning with lots of kid/dog love. Thank you Kim and Tank for such a fun learning time.

We are delighted to have families coming in and enjoying caves, crafts, chess and cool. There are many memories that are made here which will bring families back for generations. The library will still be here because of the great work of our library board, Preserving Nora’s Legacy committee, donors, volunteers and staff. The building was dedicated in 1908 and will be in the hearts of Stafford’s families for generations  to come.

Memories and Legacy are both things that will be enjoyed at our next First Friday, Aug. 2 from 6-8 p.m. The theme is Our Town. Deana Eisenhour will give a presentation on Stafford’s murals and other city projects. Jan Turner and friends will entertain us with instruments and vocals. Pictures of Stafford will be on display to celebrate our community. Outdoor games will be in our backyard for family fun. Food will be free to all. Come join us for a celebration of the people and spirit of Stafford. Let’s make it an annual celebration of all that Stafford has to offer our community and what the future might bring.
