Members of the Great Bend-National Education Association have announced their ratification of the 2015-2016 licensed employers agreement with Great Bend USD 428. The school board is expected to approve that agreement when it meets at 5 p.m. Monday, July 13, at the District Education Center, 201 S. Patton Road.
According to the agenda for Monday’s school board meeting,  GB-NEA announced on July 7 that the proposed contract had been ratified.
Monday’s school board meeting will also recognize three members who are leaving the board as their terms of office end. Doug Bender, Wade Babcock and Dwight Young will be thanked for their service, and the 2014-2015 board will adjourn. The board will welcome new members Lori Reneau, Chris Umphres and Susan Young. Each of the new members has already signed an oath of office at the Barton County Clerk’s Office.
The new year for the board will begin with the election of officers and other annual procedural matters. Other items on the agenda include the first reading of several policy revisions; budget information; an $11,800 change order on the flooring project at Eisenhower Elementary School, which was necessitated by concrete moisture; new personnel; and a discussion about personnel changes – reductions and additions – in the past year.
