The Bittersweet Christmas Band playing at Back Room
new slt BackRoom Bittersweet Band
The Bittersweet Christmas Band is coming to The Back Room for a concert this Sunday.

The holidays are a mixed bag and so is the Bittersweet Christmas Band, says Karen Neuforth at the Barton County Arts Council. BCB will perform seasonal music ranging from the reverent to the ridiculous, starting at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Arts Council’s Back Room in Great Bend.

Admission is $10 and advance reservations or tickets are encouraged. Tickets may be purchased weekday afternoons at the Arts Center or reserved by e-mail through bartonarts1@sbcglobal.net, or by calling 620-792-4221.

From Thanksgiving through Dec. 25, traditional artists Phil Cooper, Margaret Nelson and Kate Early join forces with songwriter and "wise" woman Susan Urban for a show that presents every possible perspective on the holiday season. Two to four-part harmonies and masterful instrumentation on guitar, banjo, mountain dulcimer, hand drum and other percussion instruments make the Bittersweet Christmas Band an act not to be missed, Neuforth said.

This program is presented in part by the Kansas Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts. Additional support is provided by Barton County, the City of Great Bend, and CPI Qualified Plan Consultants, Great Bend.
