Area law enforcement vehicles proceed following the funeral service Tuesday morning for Barton County Sheriff’s Deputy Sgt. David Smith, who passed away April 2 after a long battle with cancer. Smith served with the BCSO for 31 years. At 12:04 p.m. Tuesday, the Barton County Dispatch made the final call for Smith. “You will truly be missed, we have the watch from here. May you rest in peace.”
