Third arrest made in PCSO follow-up probe
Hartman

LARNED — A third arrest was made Thursday afternoon in connection to the escape of a sexual predator from Larned State Hospital.

The Pawnee County Attorney’s Office confirmed that Sydni Eileen Hartman, 29, was booked into the Pawnee County jail and that bond was set at $75,000. Formal charges are pending.

Hartman is the third Kansas Department for Aging and Disabilities Services employee to be arrested as an alleged accomplice in the June 30 escape of John Freeman Colt, from the Sexual Predator Treatment Program facility at Larned State Hospital. Colt was recaptured in Wayne County, Utah, on Sept. 27.

Also arrested earlier were Rachel Rena Perez, 50, Larned and Liliana Guadalupe Houser, 45, now of Garden City. Both women had their first appearance in Pawnee County District Court Tuesday afternoon.

All three arrests were made by the Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the LSH special investigator. Pawnee County Sheriff Scott King emphasized Thursday that the follow-up investigation continues “until all information possible” is collected.
