A Great Bend man on probation for aggravated battery had his probation revoked Tuesday in Barton County District Court. Jose Saul Torres Jr. was ordered to serve his underlying sentence of 154 months (12 years and 10 months) in the Kansas Department of Corrections.

At Tuesday’s hearing before District Court Judge Carey Hipp, Barton County Attorney Levi Morris presented evidence that Torres had committed new crimes while on probation and asked the court to revoke his probation. After hearing evidence, Judge Hipp revoked Torres’ probation in Barton County 2017 CR 13.

Torres was originally sentenced on Feb. 23, 2018, after he pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated battery. The conviction stemmed from a Jan. 12, 2017 incident in which a woman’s jaw was broken.
