Traffic stop nets drug bust
GBPD-patch-2016

A traffic stop early Wednesday morning led to an arrest on a host of drug charges, according to a Great Bend Police Department news release.

At about 3:48 a.m. Wednesday,  GBPD officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the parking lot of Casey’s General Store, 2716 10th St., for an illegal license plate. During the stop, K9 Menta was utilized to conduct a free-air sniff, where she alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics.

While detaining a passenger out of the vehicle, a male subject, identified as Damien Clone, 22, was in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. While searching the vehicle, officers located marijuana inside of the vehicle as well.

Clone was arrested for possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and no drug tax stamp. He was transported to the Barton County Jail where he was booked in lieu of bond.
