A traffic stop in the 3900 block of Railroad Avenue Tuesday night resulted in two arrests for drug violations, Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir said.

Arrested at the scene were Miguel Hernandez Gonzales, 31 of Garden City, and Jordi Armendariz, 24 of El Paso, Texas. Both were transported to the Barton County Jail without incident and booked on requested charges of possession of cocaine. Both are being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.

According to the sheriff, just before 11 p.m. Tuesday, Barton County Sheriff’s Office deputies stopped a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado pickup south of Great Bend. The vehicle was pulled over for a traffic infraction, however, officers became suspicious of the occupants and received consent to search the truck.

During the consensual search, suspected cocaine was found.
