Two cars collide in Pawnee County
KHP patch

Two motorists were injured Sunday when the vehicles they were driving collided in Pawnee County at the U.S. 183 and K-156 junction, 11 miles east of Larned or 5 miles east of Rozel. Kansas Highway Patrol reports Gerardo M. Lara, 49, of Amarillo, Texas, and Kaci N. Jordan, 36, of Great Bend were both taken to the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital in Larned with suspected serious injuries.

Lara was driving a northbound 1997 Honda Accord and Jordan was driving a westbound 2002 Chevrolet Impala on K-156 at 2:25 p.m. when Lara reportedly disobeyed a stop sign at the intersection and collided with the Impala in the intersection. Both cars continued into the northwest ditch when the Accord came to rest on its wheels. The Impala rolled multiple times before coming to rest on its roof facing north.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
