United Way of Central Kansas announces three new board members

With the merger of United Way of Central Kansas and United Way of Hoisington, UWCK felt it important to have local representative from the Hoisington community. UWCK prides itself on a diversified board with a voice in each community. The two new board members from Hoisington are Bill Lowry and Karen Van Brimmer.
Bill is the current Superintendent of USD #431. He is a Fort Hays graduate that is an asset to the community and school district for nine years. Bill comes to United Way with a great track record in the school district and is well respected in the community. The partnership with the local school districts is vital to UWCK and the districts as well. Bill shares the same vision on literacy and other UWCK programs and agencies that benefit the community. Bill and his wife Susan have four children.
Karen Van Brimmer has been the Director of United Way of Hoisington for over five years. When the merger was discussed between UWCK and UWOH with local representatives it was vital that Karen join the UWCK Board of Directors. She has been a shining star, dedicating her time as a volunteer to United Way of Hoisington. Karen is a retired Sunflower Electric employee and is currently on Hoisington City Council and working at the Hoisington Dispatch. With her husband Tom, she has five children and 11 grandchildren.
Regan Ochs Reif is currently a 2017 Young Leader Co-Chairs for UWCK with her husband Cole. They are second year co-chairs, and have been vital in connecting the younger generation to UWCK and their mission. Regan will be joining the board and she is a welcome addition to the already dynamic Board of Directors. Regan Ochs Reif is employed as the Marketing & Executive Administrator at Adams, Brown, Beran & Ball, Chtd. Reif is a 2013 summa cum laude graduate of Fort Hays State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership. She is active in the community serving as an Ambassador of the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development and as the 2016 Chairperson of the Barton County Young Professionals (BCYP) organization. She also serves as the BCYP Leadership Committee Chair. Reif is a member of the Barton Community College Business Advisory Board and serves as a Mentor in the Voss Advanced Leadership Undergraduate Experience (VALUE) program at Fort Hays State University. Originally from Hoxie, Reif moved to Great Bend in May 2013.
