With the merger of United Way of Central Kansas and United Way of Hoisington, UWCK felt it important to have local representative from the Hoisington community. UWCK prides itself on a diversified board with a voice in each community. The two new board members from Hoisington are Bill Lowry and Karen Van Brimmer.
Bill is the current Superintendent of USD #431. He is a Fort Hays graduate that is an asset to the community and school district for nine years. Bill comes to United Way with a great track record in the school district and is well respected in the community. Bill and his wife Susan have four children.
Karen Van Brimmer has been the Director of United Way of Hoisington for over five years. When the merger was discussed between UWCK and UWOH with local representatives it was vital that Karen join the UWCK Board of Directors. Karen is a retired Sunflower Electric employee and is currently on Hoisington City Council and working at the Hoisington Dispatch. With her husband Tom, she has five children and 11 grandchildren.
