Work will start soon on a U.S. 281 resurfacing project in Stafford County.

The Kansas Department of Transportation project, a surface recycle and chip seal, will be on U.S. 281 from the U.S. 50 junction to the K-19 junction. The length is 14 miles.

The work is expected to begin around Aug. 14 and be completed around Sept. 22.

During the project, traffic will be controlled by flaggers and a pilot car, and motorists should expect to stop and face delays of up to 15 minutes.

Dustrol Inc., of Towanda, is the primary contractor for the $2,097,974 project.
