USD 428 Board OKs staff changes
District welcomes new personnel

 The last school year has wound down and Unified School District 428 is looking to next year, including the shuffling of staff. 

In his report to the School Board Monday night, Assistant Superintendent John Popp summarized these changes. They included:

• 61 position changes

• Seven retirements

• 36 resignations

• 18 Transfers

• 29 new-to-district hires

• Three position reductions

• One position added (Riley grade six)

• 12 positions yet to be hired. These include: Eisenhower Elementary, kindergarten; Riley Elementary, kindergarten, and grade one, four and six;  Great Bend High School ELA coach; Great Bend Middle School, social studies; and Special Services, three psychologist positions, one teacher and one early childhood special education teacher.

In other personnel action Monday night, the board approved the following changes:

Licensed employee appointments

• Cara Moore, Family Support Worker at Eisenhower Elementary School

Licensed teacher appointments

• Brandy Proffitt, teacher of Science at Great Bend Middle School

• Cindy Beck, teacher of grade two at Jefferson Elementary School

• Trey Heitschmidt, teacher of special education at Riley Elementary (Transition to Teaching program)

• Katherine Knoles, teacher of music at Riley Elementary School

• Amy Stein, teacher of grade five at Lincoln Elementary School

• Audra Nuckolls, teacher of seventh-grade social studies at Great Bend Middle School

• Pamela Williams, teacher of art at GBMS (Transition to Teaching program)

• Kelly Hart, teacher of special education at CKCA/Holy Family (Transition to Teaching program)

• Rachel Harris, teacher of grade three at Riley Elementary School

• Carli Denning, teacher of kindergarten at Riley Elementary School (Transition to Teaching program)

• Ira (Alex) Cape, teacher of special education (Ellinwood)

• Ashley Brack, teacher of grade two at Jefferson Elementary School

• Maggie Kriegh, special education teacher at Eisenhower Elementary School

• Kyle Kriegh, teacher of eighth-grade social studies at GBMS

• Lindsay Hoff, teacher of eight-grade math at GBMS

• Victoria Buelow, teacher of kindergarten at Riley Elementary School

• Jessica Stryker, teacher of seventh-grade social studies at GBMS

• Kacie Kilgore, teacher of grade four at Riley Elementary School

• Mira Hammond, teacher of grade three at Riley Elementary School
