Barton County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of North Washington at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday for a reported injury crash where Jacob Lane, 16, of Great Bend received injuries.
According to reports, upon arrival, deputies located a 1989 GMC pickup truck that had left the roadway and crashed into the east ditch. Investigation at the scene indicates Lane may have been distracted inside the vehicle when he lost control, over-corrected and left the roadway.
“Lane was transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir said. “The accident is still under investigation. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Great Bend Fire Department and EMS units.”
