Live Like Jesus Today and the Heartland Community Church at 4907 10th St. joined forces to proved a warming shelter for those needing to get out the bitter cold, LLJT’s Buzz Birney said.

The facility will be open 24-hours a day starting at about 3 p.m. today and into next week, as long as the temperatures remain frigid, he said. Those needing to access the shelter need to use the far southeast door.

In the meantime, Birney said anyone wanted to volunteer time to man the site, or wishes to donate food or money for the effort, can call him at 620-397-3325.
