Great Bend High School and the rest of USD 428 are gearing up for Homecoming 2016 this Friday.
Schools will dismiss early Friday, at 2:30 p.m., so that students can attend the Homecoming Parade down Main Street at 3 p.m.
Friday evening, the GBHS Madrigals will hold a chili supper as a fundraiser for their spring trip to Washington, D.C. That will run from 5-7 p.m. in the Commons at the high school. Tickets are $7 for dine-in or carry-out.
The homecoming crowning ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. before the football game with Dodge City at 7 p.m. in Memorial Stadium. GBHS Danceline will perform at halftime.
The game-time theme is a White Out, and the crowd is invited to wear white or the traditional red and black.
This week each day is a Spirit Day at GBHS. Monday’s theme was Mascot Monday, with students and staff supporting their favorite teams. Today is Tall Tale Tuesday, and everyone is invited to dress as a favorite fictional character. On Wayback Wednesday, people can dress to reflect their favorite decade, and on Twinning Thursday, they can dress alike or as a pair of something.
Homecoming day is Red and Black Friday. There will be a pep assembly at 8 a.m. in the gym.
