The Cliff and Nina Fell Foundation and Trust announces its 2019 scholarship recipients. Scholarships are awarded by a screening committee which interviews the applicants. The scholarships are awarded on the combination of academic records, financial need and references. College admission test scores are an important factor also.

The scholarships were created by Cliff and Nina Fell as part of their estate planning. The scholarship foundation came into being at the death of Nina Fell in 1994 and since that time has been giving scholarships to Pawnee County high school seniors. Each recipient receives a

$2,000, non-renewable scholarship.

Scholarship recipients are Kristin Anderson, daughter of Jennifer Stelter and the late Doug Anderson, attending Emporia State University; Alea Makings, daughter of Eli and Debbie Makings, attending Fort Hays State University; Dalton Penka son of Brian and Angel Penka, attending Cowley County Community College; Katelynn Sanger, daughter of David and Stacey Sanger, attending Barton Community College.
