Winter concerts feature GBHS Orchestra, Bands on Monday

The Great Bend Middle School and High School Orchestras, and Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Jazz Bands will present their Winter Concerts on Monday, Dec. 10 in the high school gym.
The Orchestra Concert will start at 7 p.m. in the GBHS Auditorium under the direction of Mr. Isaac Enochs. Seventh grade orchestra will play Up on the Housetop and The Winds of Winter, followed by the Eighth grade’s selections Ukranian Carol and A Christmas Medley. Christmas March and We Wish You a Merry Christmas are the high school’s numbers.
In the GBHS gymnasium at 8 p.m., the jazz band will kick off their concert with Joy to the World, Silver Bells, White Christmas and Big Band Christmas. The Junior Varsity Band will play Winter Wonderland, A Still, Silent Night, Carol of the Drum, and African Bell Carol. Christmas Joy, Candlelight Carol, In the Bleak Midwinter, and Christmas Fantasy are pieces to be performed by the Varsity Band. The two bands will unite for Patriotic Spectacular, Semper Fi, and Salute to America’s Finest. These groups are directed by Mr. Mark DeWald and assisted by Enochs and Mr. Kurtis Koch.
The concerts are free to the public and everyone is urged to attend to get in the holiday spirit.
