Woman robbed while walking to bank

A woman was robbed on her way to make a bank deposit Tuesday evening in the 3300 Block of 10th Street. The Great Bend Police Department is asking that if anyone has information about the incident contact the office at 620-793-4120.

Authorities are investing an alleged robbery that took place Tuesday night as woman was attempting to make a bank deposit, Great Bend Police Chief Cliff Couch said.
Great Bend Police Officers were dispatched at approximately 9:20 p.m. to the 3300 block of 10th Street. Upon arrival, they made contact with a female employee of the Smart Style Hair Salon located inside of Walmart.
The employee said she was walking from Walmart to Farmer’s Bank and Trust to deposit the money from the store when she was approached by a white male. The man allegedly grabbed her bag and ran away from the area.
The suspect was approximately 6 feet tall, wearing dark clothing and a dark hooded sweatshirt.
