Venture Corporation of Great Bend will begin working on K-96 and the street improvement projects in Great Bend on or about June 5. These projects will be worked on simultaneously, according to the city’s Public Works Department.

The project will encompass K-96 from 10th Street to the city limits K-96 will be reduced to one lane.

It will also include McKinley from 10th to Eighth with the closure of Eighth at McKinley on the east and west sides of the street. Residents will still be able to access their homes on Eighth, as well as continue to access the businesses on McKinley.

Also, there will be repairs done to Almond, Buckeye, Cedar, Dogwood, Evergreen and Firethorn streets.

Each part of this project will differ in the amount of time for completion, but city officiala expect the project as a whole to take up two months, depending on weather and unforeseen circumstances.

Please be attentive and aware as we work to make repairs in these areas, and we appreciate your patience.
