Resurfacing is expected to start around Friday, Oct 27, on U.S. 281 in Barton County.

The Kansas Department of Transportation project involves a mill and hot-mix-asphalt overlay on U.S. 281 from the K-4 junction to the Barton/Russell county line. The length is about 11 miles.

During the project, traffic will be controlled by flaggers and a pilot car, and motorists should expect to slow down and stop and face delays of up to 15 minutes.

The work is expected to be completed around the end of November.

Venture Corp., of Great Bend, is the primary contractor for the $3,384,231 project.
