World Down Syndrome Day, which took place Wednesday, called awareness to this syndrome. The Northwest Kansas Down Syndrome Support Group ordered dozens of Down Syndrome awareness cookies. Kadin White of Great Bend and his family members took them to local law enforcement and first responder offices Wednesday with a note about the observance and a flyer about how to better work with people who have intellectual disabilities.
