Great Bend man arrested after traffic stop nets drug discovery

A Great Bend man was arrested Friday night after a traffic stop resulted in the discovery of drugs and paraphernalia.

At about 11 p.m. Friday, Barton County Sheriff’s Office Detective Adam Hales stopped a maroon 1992 Mercury Cougar at the intersection of Meadowlark St. and Jefferson St. in Great Bend. The vehicle had unlawful registration. During the course the stop, a subsequent drug investigation ensued and methamphetamine as well as paraphernalia were discovered in the vehicle.

Philip Pardo, 18, Great Bend, was arrested at the scene. He was transported to the Barton County jail where he was booked on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He has since posted a $2,500 bond.
