HOISINGTON — The Hoisington Police Department is investigating a Friday early-morning stabbing incident in the community.

Hoisington Police Chief Kenton Doze said that information is still being collected as the department is seeking witnesses to identify possible suspects. “Right now, the investigation is still in its early stages,” he said.

Doze reported that at approximately 2:57 a.m. Friday, Clara Barton Hospital requested an officer respond as a male subject was being treated with a stab wound. It was learned that the subject had been in an altercation with another male subject inside a residence located in the 300 block of E. Third St. in Hoisington. The suspect fled the scene and the victim was transported to the hospital.

HPD then executed a search warrant at the residence. Officers were able to process the scene and collect evidence of the crime. The case is still under investigation.

Persons with information regarding the incident or any other crime are asked to contact the HPD at 620-653-4995 or Crime Stoppers at 620-792-1300.
