Great Bend Police arrested a man early last week, after discovering suspected narcotics in the process of an arrest for other outstanding warrants.
According to reports, at around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, a GBPD officer observed 33-year-old Marcus Miller in the parking lot of Orscheln Farm & Home, 5320 10th St. After observing Miller exit a vehicle in the parking lot, the officer approached and arrested Miller on two outstanding Great Bend Municipal Court warrants. During a search incident to arrest, the officer searched Miller and located suspected methamphetamine on his person. The officer transported him to the Barton County Jail and his vehicle was seized as evidence pending a search warrant.
The following day, officers executed a search warrant on the vehicle that Miller was driving as officers arrived at the incident location. After a thorough search of the vehicle, officers located quantities of suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and evidence of drug distribution. Miller was then booked in lieu of $100,000 bond on additional requested charges of distribution of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and no drug tax stamp.
