Man hospitalized after motorcycle crash Tuesday night

A man was hospitalized Tuesday night after a motorcycle he was riding collided with a parked vehicle in Great Bend.

According to the Great Bend Police Department, at approximately 10:03 p.m. Tuesday, GBPD officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of 29th St. in reference to an injury crash involving a motorcycle. 

Upon arrival, they located a male subject, identified as Charles Buck, 40, unresponsive but breathing. Buck was transported to University of Kansas Health System - Great Bend Campus by Great Bend EMS, and later airlifted to Via Christi in Wichita, where he is currently in serious, but stable condition. 

Evidence at the scene indicates Buck was traveling westbound on 29th St. on a motorcycle when he struck the rear of a legally parked truck, throwing him from the motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
