Two rural accidents Saturday resulted in minor injuries, the Barton County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Shawn Christopher Marvin, 36, of Hoisington, was driving a north in a 1987 Mercury Grand Marquis at 2:21 a.m. when he fell asleep in the 500 block of South Main, by the Roto-Mix plant south of Hoisington. The car hit a guard rail. Marvin had blood on his elbow and a sore arm, and was taken to Clara Barton Hospital.
At 6:50 p.m. Saturday, Mary Lee Smith, 72, Great Bend, was stopped at 151 South U.S. 281 in a 1992 Buick Park Avenue when it was rear-ended by a 1992 Cadillac driven by Judy L. Christiansen, 66, Great Bend. The Park Avenue went into the ditch. Smith was treated at the scene.
