Barton County Sheriff

A motorist backed into another vehicle driven by an Ellinwood city official in the 10 block of North Main, Ellinwood, at 4:36 p.m. Wednesday. The sheriff’s office responded to this non-injury accident.

A vehicle hit a deer on U.S. 281, about a mile south of Hoisington, at 6:33 p.m. Wednesday. Kansas Highway Patrol responded.

 

Great Bend Police

Theft of a check from 2334 Main was reported Tuesday.

 

Theft/criminal deprivation of a power washer from 1649 K-96 was reported Wednesday.

Claudia Rothe was driving west in the 3300 block of Broadway at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday and rear-ended a vehicle driven by Clarice Brining that was also westbound but waiting to make a left turn into a private drive.

Two females were served with notices to appear in municipal court for allegedly stealing makeup from Walmart.

Damage to a window on the dance school at 2103 Forest Ave. was reported Wednesday.

 

Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made six ambulance runs on Tuesday and seven on Wednesday. There were no fires.
