Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made 10 ambulance runs Friday, six Saturday and four Sunday.
At 9 :34 a.m. Saturday, units responded to 1701 Lakin Ave. for a carbon monoxide check. No CO was found.
At 8:34 p.m. Sunday, units responded to an automatic alarm at 5320 10th St. It was a false alarm caused by a faulty detector
At 4:29 a.m. Monday, units responded to 2316 Ninth St., where a furnace was smoking. They found a forced air gas furnace in the loading bay of the UPS building was producing light smoke. Gas and electrical was shut off to the furnace and it stopped smoking.

Great Bend Police
On Friday a woman reported she had mailed a money order on a scam. A fraud case was taken; the Post Office advised it could stop the letter.
A check came in on a frozen account.
A wallet was reported stolen from 3016 17th St.
A wrench was stolen from the back of a truck while it was parked at Walmart.
Vehicles driven by Brittney Collins and Dirk Davis collided at 3:46 p.m. Friday at Broadway and McKinley.
Two bags left in the Presto store were collected as found property.
A resident turned in a wallet found in “one of the kids rooms.”
Audrey Lunsford was driving west on 10th St. at 5:21 p.m. Friday when a wheel came off in front of McDonalds, damaging the vehicle.
Deer poaching was reported; the call was forwarded to Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.
The Russell Police Department requested information about counterfeit bills.
After a domestic call at 2:34 a.m. Saturday, police were attempting to locate a 22-year-old man, possibly armed with a knife. He is suspected of aggravated battery, aggravated assault and battery.
A fireman and humane society employee were bitten by a dog during an ambulance assist at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of 21st St.
Someone cut the brake lines and smashed the AC covers on a recreational vehicle at 2627 Paseo Dr.
A known person was suspected of shoplifting, Saturday at Walmart.
Vehicles driven by Kendra Howland and Eatha Damm collided at 11:56 p.m. Saturday at 10th and McKinley, after Howland reportedly failed to yield right of way. The Damm vehicle was towed. No injuries reported.
At 2:29 a.m. Sunday, police received a report of a window broken on the house at 1801 Eighth St.
Two women reportedly stole items from the Love’s store at 1221 10th St.
A woman allegedly stole a TV from 1308 Morphy St. while the reporting party was in another room, Sunday afternoon.
A cell phone was reportedly stolen from 2300 Franklin St.

Barton County Sheriff
At 7:36 a.m. Friday, a woman reported finding a handgun on the south side of east U.S. 56 and 60 Ave.
At 11:42 a.m. Friday, a truck spreading sand on Valley Road and Cheyenne View Dr. caught the power line, which landed on top of the cab.
A trap was set Friday afternoon for a vicious dog, which was caught in the 200 block of Pine St. in Great Bend.
A battery case involving head injuries on two people at the Barton County Jail was reported at 3:14 p.m. Saturday.
A Dodge Charger hit a raccoon or badger at 8:28 p.m. Sunday on NW 30 Road and NW 10 Ave.
A Buick hit a deer at 10:34 p.m. Sunday on K-156 and NE 80 Road.
