Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made seven ambulance runs on Monday. There was one fire call.
At 4:20 p.m. units responded to a structure fire at 1508 Cherry lane.
Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the open garage door and from the eaves of the house. Flames where coming from the back of the garage area.
The fire was quickly extinguished however; there was heavy smoke damage throughout the house.
The occupants that were home at the time of the fire were able to get out and no one was hurt.
The fire started on the back side of the attached garage area, the exact cause at this time is still undetermined. Excess of $25,000 damage.
The Great Bend Fire Department was assisted by the Great Bend Police Department, City water company and the local gas and electric company.

A non-injury accident was reported at 10th and Washington Street.
A non-injury accident was reported at 10th and Harrison Street.
Theft of a wallet was reported at Cherry Village Apartments located at 5926 Eisenhower Ave.
A narcotics violation was reported at 1508 Cherry Lane. Matthew Apodaca was arrested for cultivation of marijuana.
Theft was reported at the Great Bend Public Library located at 1409 Williams St.

An injury accident was reported at SE 50 Road and SE 50 Ave.
Theft was reported Bartlett Grain-Elevators located at 15 NE 60 Ave.
Theft was reported in the 200 Block of SE 60 Road.
