Great Bend Fire/EMS

Emergency Medical Service made eight ambulance runs on Friday, Oct. 13, 11 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. Firefighters responded to a business in the 1900 block of 12th St. at 9 a.m. Friday after a hot/smoke smell was detected. No fire was found and the business owner contacted an electrician.


Great Bend Police Department

A search warrant was executed at 9:50 a.m. Friday at Cherry Village Apartments, 5926 Eisenhower Ave.

A crash with possible injuries was reported at 3:56 p.m. at 701 McKinley St. 

A domestic battery was reported at 6:27 p.m. Friday at 717 Kansas Ave. The BCSO also responded.

A non-injury crash was reported at 2:29 a.m. Saturday at Stone Lake, 2501 Railroad Ave.

A two-vehicle injury crash was reported at 12:42 p.m. Saturday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1500 Kansas Ave.

Officers investigated a report of criminal trespassing at 7:28 p.m. Saturday at 19th and Washington. BCSO also responded. Suspected narcotics were located on a male.

Officers assisted the BCSO on a domestic disturbance call at 1:22 a.m. Sunday at 111 Kiowa Road, Great Bend. BCSO also responded.

Officers responded to a domestic call at 2:17 a.m. Sunday at 2432 Cheyenne Dr. Devon Keith was arrested for aggravated domestic battery and on outstanding warrants.

A theft/burglary not in progress was reported at 1:09 p.m. Sunday at 3706 Meadowlark Lane.

A burglary not in progress was reported at 914 B Harrison St.

An officer assisted BCSO on a call at 9:23 p.m. Sunday at 116 SE 50 Road, Great Bend.


Barton County Sheriff’s Office

A stabbing was reported at 2:57 a.m. Friday at 316 East 3rd St., Hoisington.

BCSO responded along with GBPD when a domestic battery was reported at 6:27 p.m. Friday at 717 Kansas Ave., Great Bend.

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:19 p.m. Friday at 843 North U.S. 281, Hoisington.

A narcotics violation was reported at 7:32 p.m. in the 2400 block of 24th St., Great Bend.

A burglary not in progress was reported Saturday afternoon at 4001 Worden St., Albert.

A possible injury crash was reported at 4:21 p.m. Saturday at West U.S. 56 and SW 60 Ave., Great Bend. An ambulance was dispatched but no one was transported. GBPD also responded.

A fire was reported at 4:40 p.m. Sunday at NE 60 Ave. and NE 100 Road, Claflin.
