Great Bend Fire/EMS

EMS made nine ambulance runs on Wednesday, and three ambulance runs on Thursday.

The Great Bend fire department made a run and put out a ditch fire just west of mile marker 172 on K-96 at 6:46 p.m. on Wednesday.

A report was made of theft of a vehicle a couple of days ago at 5500 block of 9th St., at 10:27 a.m. Thursday.

A report was made of a sex offense at 11:57 a.m. on Thursday.

BARTON COUNTY SHERIFF 

A report was made of a fire in Ellinwood at 4:10 p.m. Thursday. Fire Chief Spencer Proffitt was contacted by phone on Sept. 16 and he confirmed that smoldering hay bales were found by the Ellinwood Fire Department at the 300 block of SE 100 Ave. No fire was detected. No action taken since a fire was not present.
