Russell man escapes serious injury in single-vehicle crash
KHP patch

A Russell man sustained possible minor injuries in a single-vehicle crash west of Russell Wednesday morning.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, a 2004 F-150 driven by 70-year-old Dale Brown of Russell was eastbound on old U.S. 40 about 5 miles west of Russell just after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, when the vehicle entered the south ditch. Brown reportedly over-corrected, causing the truck to cross the highway and enter the north ditch. The vehicle then went airborne, jumping over a creek and landing on its wheels facing northeast.  Brown was transported to Russell Regional Hospital. He was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
