Suspicious vehicle check leads to GBPD drug arrest
GBPD-patch-2016

A check on a suspicious vehicle by Great Bend Police early Monday morning led to a woman’s arrest on suspicion of possession of multiple narcotics.

According to a GBPD release, at approximately 12:18 a.m. Monday, a GBPD officer checked on a suspicious vehicle parked behind a business in the 1300 block of Main Street. The officer made contact with the driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, identified as 36-year-old Andrea McAllaster. McAllaster advised officers on scene she did not know where she was, or what town she was in.

McAllaster was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence. Officers contacted the GBPD’s Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) who responded to do additional evaluations.

McAllaster was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine, prescription medication and drug paraphernalia. She was transported to the Barton County Jail and booked in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Anyone with information on this case or any other case is encouraged to contact the Great Bend Police Department at 620-793-4120 or Barton County Crime Stoppers at 620-792-1300.
