The driver of a Freighter box truck and two passengers were taken to Russell Regional Hospital with possible injuries Monday morning after a rollover crash on Interstate 70, 0.3 miles east of Russell. Kansas Highway Patrol reports the driver, Zachary D. Messina, address unknown, fell asleep at the wheel around 8:31 a.m. The truck had a Colorado license tag. After the truck entered the median area, the driver over-corrected, causing the vehicle to roll onto the passenger side of the vehicle.

Messina and passengers Olivia P. Moreno, 28, address unknown, and Kenneth R. Rapp, 21, from Southhaven, Mississippi, all reported being in pain. None of the occupants of the truck were wearing safety restraints.

The truck was removed to a tow lot.
