Traffic stop results in meth arrest

 A 67-year-old Colorado woman was arrested Monday evening following a traffic stop in Great Bend, the Barton County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir reported that at about 8:45 p.m. Monday, a BCSO deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 5600 block of 10th Street. During contact with the driver, deputies became suspicious of suspected marijuana in the vehicle. Further investigation revealed suspected marijuana, suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia 

On December 4, 2023 at about 8:45 PM,  a deputy with the Barton County Sheriff’s office conducted a traffic stop in the 5600 block of 10th St. in the city of Great Bend. During their contact with the driver, deputies became suspicious of suspected marijuana being in the vehicle. Further investigation revealed suspected marijuana, suspected methamphetamine as well as drug paraphernalia.

The driver, Patricia Elsen, 67, of Loveland, Colo., was arrested at the scene without incident and transported to the Barton County jail. She was booked on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
