TORTOISEVILLE Tortoises are cool creatures, but on the human-pet friendship tier, they probably fall somewhere below "man's best friend" and a little above the goldfish you try desperately to keep alive for more than a few weeks.

I'm not saying tortoises deserve the reputation they have, but it can't be ignored that tortoises are most well-known for being too slow to win a race. Little kiddos who want an exciting pet to run around and play fetch with probably haven't been writing "tortoise" on their wishlist.

Until now.

After watching speedy Mr. Tortoise in this video, everyone might change their minds. The video is captured by someone whose pet tortoise definitely thinks it's a dog and spends a good 30 seconds chasing after a ball.

The video is amazing and adorable. Mr. Tortoise is truly living his best life and the delight he feels is totally visible across his little tortoise face. Plus, he's legitimately pretty fast and is bucking tortoise stereotypes with this video.

If this tortoise was matched up in a race against a hare, I think he might actually win.
