Alfred L. Richardson 1936 - 2011

HOISINGTON — Alfred L. Richardson, 74, died Jan. 29 at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. Born June 1, 1936, at Long Island, Kan., he was the son of Herbert and Mae (Lockwood) Richardson. On March 24, 1958, he married Georgia Seigler at Hoisington. A lifetime resident of Hoisington, he worked as a roughneck in the oilfield, and after retiring was an animal control officer in Hoisington and did various other jobs.

Mr. Richardson was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Charlie Richardson of Hoisington; three daughters, Mona Hullett and Susan Richardson, both of Hoisington, and Lisa Smith of Wichita; two sisters, Dorothy Boeck and Ilda Orndorf; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Richardson; a brother, Sonny Richardson; and four sisters, Viva, Virginia, Maxine and Norma.

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington, with the Rev. Dick Ogle officiating. Inurnment will be at the Hoisington Cemetery. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to the Alfred Richardson Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
