SOLOMON — Funeral services for Alvin A. Farris, age 78, of Solomon, formerly of Salina, will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2022 at the Carlson-Becker Funeral Home in Solomon. Mr. Farris passed away Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022 at his home in Solomon. He was born March 28, 1944 in Great Bend, Kan. the son of Albert and Madeline Farris.   

On Feb. 7, 1975 he married Gloria Griffin in Hutchinson. He worked for Sears for 32 years and for Lowes 12 years as the Divisional Manager in appliances. But his love was farming. 

Survivors include his loving wife Gloria of the home; daughters Charlotte Farris of Wichita, Angel Farris of Salina, Ezzie Farris of Salina; sons Nevin Farris of Salina, Tim Anaya of New Mexico, Bobby Farris of Junction City; step sons Trevor and wife Nancy of Columbus Ga., and Derek and wife Monica of Shawnee, Kan.; sister Mary Wilson of Oregon; brother William Farris of Great Bend; grandson Nevante Farris of the home; 12 other grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.   

The family has selected cremation and there will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Solomon Senior Center and may be sent in care of the Carlson-Becker Funeral Home, P.O. Box 308, Solomon, Kansas 67480. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.martinbeckercarlson.com.
