BOZEMAN, Mont. — Carol (Willis) Ellis, 76, passed away on Jan. 14. Born on July 17, 1937, in Oregon County, Mo., she was the daughter of Harry and Janet Orr Willis. Carol loved her family. She held many positions throughout her life, but nothing would ever replace her role as wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Ellis was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Larned for the past 45 years. She held many offices over the years. She was active with the American Red Cross teaching CPR and First Aid classes in Pawnee County.
Survivors include her loving husband, Donald Ellis of Belgrade, Mont.; a son, Donald Jr. (Susan) of Youngsville, La.; three daughters, Susie Scott of Lake Charles, La., LeAnna Unruh of Pawnee Rock, and Stacey Ellis (Scott) of Belgrade, Mont.; seven grandchildren, Stephen Ellis(Dawn), Shannon Ellis, Grant Unruh, Shawn “Odie” Unruh (Nicole), Marci Unruh, Marcus Allen and Sadie Glaude; five great-grandchildren, Madeline, Emily, Brogan, Tristian and Dahvon. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, along with a special friend Kathy Fitch whom she affectionately referred to as her other daughter. Carol was also a surrogate mother/grandmother to many children over the years.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Brad McCoy presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. on Sunday with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the Carol Ellis Memorial in care of the funeral home.
