Shari Lynn (VanHoesen) Anderson 1960 - 2026
Shari Lynn (VanHoesen) Anderson, 65, of Great Bend, Kan. passed away on April 16, 2026. She was born on June 30, 1960, in Wichita, Kan. to LaVern ‘Butch’ and Betty (Combrink) VanHoesen. Shari’s life centered around her family and her community. Shari and her husband Ron celebrated their 46th anniversary in March 2026. Shari was known for her off‑beat sense of humor and bringing warmth and laughter to those around her. She had a deep love of learning and could often be found watching the History Channel. Shari had many creative talents which she expressed through her love of crocheting, knitting, and cross‑stitching—many family members and friends treasure the pieces she lovingly made. She and her husband enjoyed doing bible studies by Chuck Swindoll together. Shari was widely known as the frog lady – friends and family far and wide would select a frog from their travels to add to her collection.
Shari was also dedicated to serving her community. When her youngest children were in elementary school, she was actively involved in the PTA, giving her time and energy to support local schools and families. She worked for several organizations in Great Bend, including the Central Baptist Association and CPI, where she was valued for her reliability and strong work ethic. Through her work, service, and everyday acts of care, Shari touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
Shari is survived by her husband Ron Anderson; her mother Betty VanHoesen; her brothers Marty VanHoesen and wife Lori, Larry VanHoesen and wife Stephanie; her children Christine and husband Brian Scott, Dr. Karen Anderson-Lain and husband Dr. Brian Lain, Keith Anderson and wife Leta, Kelley Anderson and wife Sarah, and Kayleen and husband David Weber, Ret.
