ROSSVILLE — Clarence Darrell Flanders, 72, died early Tuesday, Sept. 28, at the Rossville Healthcare & Rehab Center in Rossville. He was born April 16, 1938, at Great Bend, the son of the late Elvin P. and Thelma M. Rediger Flanders. Darrell grew up in Great Bend and graduated from Great Bend High School in 1956. He served in the Army Reserves in the late ’50s and early ’60s. He lived most of his life in Great Bend before moving to Kansas City, Kan., and later moving to Rossville in 2001. He had worked in oil fields and had managed several glass companies.
Mr. Flanders was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Great Bend.
Survivors include two sisters, Doreen (Larry) Snyder, Olathe, and Delaine (Keith) Kidney, St. Marys. He was preceded in death by his wife Patti.
A prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Graveside services and interment will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Great Bend Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.piperfuneralhome.com.
